There's a TIM BURTON CHARACTER in all of us.

Alice in Wonderland is doing good in the box office, oh wait hold on, scratch that--it did OH!some. I guess its bound that way for several reasons.

1.Disney Classic in 3D2.Johnny Depp in another out of this world, larger than life character
3. It's a TIM BURTON film


--meaning weird is written all over it, and anything weird is good. :D


I have seen practically every Tim Burton film, and even though most would say most of 'em are Halloween themed, I'd say it's completely more than that.



The way Tim Burton creates and recreates characters is simply beyond words. Each one of them, from Beetle Juice, Edward Scissorhands, Jack Skellington, to Willy Wonka, all of them are eccentrically unique and whether we'd like to admit it or not, we can very much relate to at least one of them.


You may be Edward Scissorhands-- whose difference is something he did not choose, but lived with his uniqueness in a life of love and zest. He epitomized a good heart despite what other people view him to be: a monster
Or you can probably see yourself as Jack Skellington--somebody who seems to have everything, but is still searching for more. He ended up doing something wrong and in the end realized there are things that are simply not meant to be. He accepted the errs he made and had the courage to correct them.


You may be a little bit of Sweeney Todd-- just leading a simple life when ugly hearted people took away his love. He ended up as a murderer, a bravado of vengeance and hatred, whose life is concluded with justice-- getting what he gave, and learning the bitter truth that revenge is not sweet, AT ALL.


Or may be you see yourself as Emily, The Corpse Bride-- waiting for her one true love. She has all the reasons to be angry, to live a life of animosity caused by the torturous melancholy, but her honest to goodness pure heart knows better. And in the end, she was rewarded with longing peace in heaven.

So next time you see a Tim Burton film, do not just enjoy the film...
